These gems are grilled cinnamon oranges. The recipe and method couldn’t be easier, and they taste fantastic.
Ingredients (each orange serves 1 person, so double/triple/etc… as you like)
1 fresh, juicy orange (you need good oranges for this)
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions
1. Turn the broiler to hi. Mix together the cinnamon and sugar. Cut off the very ends of the orange (where the stem was and the opposite side), then slice in half.
2. Place the orange halves on a baking sheet and sprinkle each with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place the baking sheet under the broiler for 5-6 minutes, or until the sugar browns and caramelizes. It’s important that you don’t place the oranges too close to the broiler – otherwise, the sugar will caramelize but the orange won’t be warmed through. Try using a rack in the middle of the oven.

Yum, that is so simple and yummy-sounding.
Would it work on an actual outdoor grill? I guess it would. It sounds like a nice, easy dessert to throw on as the other foods finish up.

Never thought of grilling oranges like that. Living in Florida, it will be a must try the next time our tree has fruit.
