As far as I know, I've never seen this. But how amazing it sounds! I looked at the wikipedia article and love the following sentence:

Though the plant is often grown in saltwater irrigated land in the Mediterranean Basin, it will grow without salt water.

Apparently, it will also leach salt out of soil!

Did you find that it tasted quite salty?
