Recipe experiments, earrings, and oat bran!

I am loving the oat bran/wheat bran combo for breakfast.  The other day I made a creamy chocolate peanut butter sauce for the topping (just watered down PB2 – chocolate flavor).  Warning: Oat bran mixed with wheat bran is very very filling!  You won’t even think about food for several hours!  Here’s the bowl:

  • heaping 1/2 cup oat bran
  • heaping 1/3 cup wheat bran
  • 1/2 banana, whipped in
  • 2 tablespoons PB2 Chocolate, with extra water – drizzled over the top

I’ve been meaning to try some of Katie‘s recipes in the hopes of gaining some extra entries to her Jocalat giveaway.  I decided to make the Choco-licious Chocolate Pudding first.  I actually made this two times – the first time I used A LOT of agar agar and it was tough to blend (but amazingly delicious):

And the second time I used a lot less (easier to blend, but I actually like the thicker version):

The only change I made was to use PB2 Chocolate (2 tablespoons) instead of cocoa powder and I drizzled the top with brown rice syrup.  This was a delicious pudding and I’ll definitely be making it again.

I also decided to try Katie’s Banana Bread in a Bowl.  Divine!  I love banana bread and this did not disappoint.  I used almond milk (instead of soy) and kamut puffs for the “flake cereal”.  I’m tempted to try this with some PB2 added in as well.

I got crafty this afternoon and made two pairs of earrings.  I’m thinking I might do an earring giveaway – would any of you be interested in something like these?

Currently watching American Idol with some PB2 Chocolate & fuji apples (yes, plural apples – always plural with apples).

I really liked everyone’s responses to yesterday’s post about massage.  It’s really encouraging and reassuring to hear that so many of you have made crazy decisions and had wonderful things come of them.  Carpe diem, I suppose.  Have a lovely evening.
