Repeat dinner, new breakfast

Last night Bobby and I hit up our favorite Thai restaurant, Blue Mango.  It’s really close to where our new apartment will be, so we went after we signed our new lease (it starts on April 17th).

We got the same things that we did last time – I got the Mushroom Mountain Stir-fry (“soft tofu, baby corn, bamboo, straw mushroom and bean sprout stir-fried with a bit of green curry paste, sesame seed are sprinkled on for a beautiful finish”):

Bobby got Basil Chili Chicken and white rice.  I stole a few of his peppers and onions, but it was way too spicy (he agreed).  We asked for medium, same as last time, but this was closer to holy-crap-I’m-sweating spicy.

Dessert was a whole bunch of fruit salad with oodles of Chocolate PB2.  I’m breaking out again though, so I think I might try to limit my PB2 intake to 1-2 servings a day… it has some added sugar and I think that might be the culprit.

I tried a new breakfast today and it was fab (I can’t remember the last time I didn’t have oats/oat bran/wheat bran).  I did the standard miso soup, as well as 2 cups of fruit salad, and a chewy pita with 2 tablespoons of a new buy – PB&Co’s Cinnamon Raisin Swirl.

I really like these pita things.  I ended up having another after I finished this one.  I accidentally bought the wrong kind, and they are awesome.  They are chewy and filling.

Bobby and I went for a run (short – maybe a little more than 1.5 miles) after he got home from work today (yes, it’s Saturday).  I’m really glad he’s getting excited about exercise; even though he’s thin and looks “in shape”, he doesn’t get much exercise and I worry about him.  I hope this happens more often.

I’m still looking for more guest posters for while I’m on my cruise next week (from LA to Mexico and back; John Mayer, Guster, OAR and a few others are giving concerts on the boat).  The post would be due by Wednesday night, or Thursday morning at the latest.  Shoot me an email at magpie707@gmail.com or leave a comment if you’re interested – I’m open to any topic!

You get to see John Mayer in concert on a cruise!?!?!? I’m so jealous – I love his music! Is that a Sixthman cruise? I looked into those JUST BECAUSE I knew John Mayer performed on them.

That breakfast looks fabulous! I always have a bowl of fruit for breakfast with two rice crackers with hummus and some type of topping (tomato, arugula, alfalfa sprouts…) but that chewy tortilla with PB sounds awesome!

  13. So jealous of your cruise! Love your brekkie – I need to change things up a bit. I’m in a total spinach oat rut. :)

What kind of pitas did you buy, and how do you like the cinnamon raisin PB & Co? I thought it was too sweet. I remember crunching down on little bits of sugar.

Glad you guys enjoyed a good run together. :)

Have you considered switching away from peanuts altogether an giving almond or hazelnut a try? Peanuts cause all sorts of problems for many people- peanuts have some not so healthy properties to them that cause them to be so highly allergenic.
