What could be better than the breakfast I mentioned on Sunday? Well, let’s see… that was coffee and chocolate. (Psst – Heather and Sophia are fellow coffee + chocolate breakfasters.) What about… adding bacon?!
Yes, I think that’s better.

Coffee, Bacon, Chocolate. (Honestly not as “bad” as it sounds.)
This wholesome breakfast includes no-sugar chocolate (it’s sweetened with maltitol because I’m watching my sugar intake – it’s really quite good; Trader Joe’s sells a version as well and that is my favorite – it’s called “Simply Lite” I believe), coffee with half & half plus stevia in the raw (I think I prefer NuNaturals in general but Stevia in the Raw is fine for coffee), and 2 slices of bacon. I do want to say something about eating bacon – if you are going to partake in bacon-y goodness, please avoid bacon with added nitrates and nitrites. I get mine without these nasty little additions at Trader Joe’s. One reason that bacon is generally viewed as unhealthy is due to these harmful preservatives and chemicals. (They’re probably in your jerky, hot dogs, salami, etc… as well.) I eat a fair amount of meat these days but I try to be mindful of other crazy ingredients that may come with it.
Oh, this was Bobby’s breakfast:

That’s coffee (with a smidge of honey; no cream because he’s semi-lactose intolerant), blackberries, and 3 slices of bacon. I don’t think he loves chocolate quite as much as I do.
Neither of us are big breakfast eaters. I don’t like pumping myself full of 500+ calories of carby oats and heavy nut butters when I get out of bed, but I do enjoy the simple things.

Now, a CamelBak giveaway!
This giveaway is now closed. Click here to see who won.
A few weeks ago CamelBak sent me this awesome water bottle to review and I finally started using it last week. I love how this picture came out! I don’t know how to make all my pictures this good.

It has a cool filter inside it so you always have filtered water (I think you have to replace it every 3 months or so – it comes with one to start). To drink the water you bite on the spout and suck it out. It’s very spill-proof. I’ve been bringing it to yoga, on walks, basically anywhere that I go.

CamelBak is going to give away these “Groove” water bottles (a $25 value) to two (2) lucky readers. You can get an entry for each of the following (please leave one comment for each entry):
- Answer me this: 1) How many disposable bottles could you give up in a year by using one Groove? OR 2) Where would you fill up with tap water if you had Groove?
- Like CamelBak on Facebook.

blackberries with bacon? sorry Bobby, I like you but not your breakfast combo!
camelback with filter? that’s dollop cool, I wish I knew about it earlier, I’d love to have one of these.
1) I could easily save 365 bottles by using groove because I drink so much water!
No need to enter me in the giveaway as I already have a CamelBak water bottle that I love. Just had to say best breakfast ever…yours, not Bobby’s.
I’d fill it up at the park I walk to with my kids
I liked you on FB
You’re on my blogroll
ooohhh…Ive been wanting one of these. I could give up so many disposable bottles. especially since our free water at work is disgusting. I think the filter would probably help it taste better possibly? Or maybe it would help me mentally?
@Sarah M: It definitely tastes better to me!
You are on my blogroll for sure
Mmmmm, bacon
I’d easily save at least 1-2 bottles a week, if not more! I’d fill it up from our sink tap or any old fountain I pass by.
I’d fill up anywhere I could… a public washroom if need be. Gotta hydrate and it comes with a filter afterall.
I like you on FB.
And, you’re on my blog roll.
I would fill the Groove at the park, nearby where I run.
I like you and Camelback on facebook! I would fill up at work instead of using nasty styrofoam cups. I’m sure my kids would use it also, saving many water bottle.
i can get behind that breakfast! love bacon
Ahhhh I thought you were gonna giveaway bacon chocolate at first! Wouldn’t that be the PERFECT breakfast? hee hee hee.
I fill up all my plastic Kirkland water bottles…but I need a real legit one! Pick me~
i’ll take the blackberries, coffee, and chocolate … you guys can have the bacon!
hmmm… i drink tap water anyway, but i’d look much cooler drinking it out of a groove!
i am actually lucky to live in a city with great (really great) water. but since i’m spoiled, i’m constantly buying bottles when i fill up elsewhere, so this would be terrific.
as a teacher what a PERFECT way to get my water fix while using the water fountain and not lugging countless liter bottles in.
I would fill up more at work. We have a filter on the tap already but the city water still tastes gross.
I also love that you’re doing chocolate for breakfast. Yum!
I like you on Facebook.
I like camelback on Facebook too.
I’d fill up with my brita water filter
I have never seen a bottle like this before AWESOME!!!!! I want one:) I would fill it up at any tap. I <3 Water!!
I would fill up that baby with the nasty DC water where I live!
I would be able to fill it up at my college with no fear (they have awful water).

Luckily for me, I already switched to water bottles around 2 years ago
My workplace recently replaced its old water cooler with a new one so I bought the old one home and have been using that for water fill-up. Best thing of all, once the water gallon tank is empty, I can just call them to pick up the empty water bottles and send me new ones. So worth it!
Otherwise, we also have a filtration system in the kitchen, hehe.
I’d fill up at work where we don’t have a sink and I have to go to the bathroom faucet for water. If I don’t let it run it’s yellow at first.
I would fill it up while running errands on the weekends!!

[...] free thing: Mindful Maggie is having a giveaway on a Camelback Groove bottle. Groovy! It goes for like 2 more days, at which point this “thing” will be rendered [...]
I liked the camelbak on facebook!
I would fill it up at a California State Park before starting in on a hike.
Love the breakfast!
Pick me, pick me! If I used a Camelback, I could save 2 – 3 bottles a day sometimes. Yes, I have other reusable bottles, but none as easy as just buying a 24-pack of water from the store — and none as cool looking as the one you’re giving away.
If I won this water bottle, I would fill it up in many places, including water fountains near the start of hiking trails (like the Crystal Cove area in the OC).
Thanks!

I think that people’s breakfasts are fascinating! I definitely like bacon — nitrate free, of course, and do have it sometimes. I also really like berries, nuts, and yogurts. It totally depends on the day.
I honestly wouldn’t save that many plastic bottles a year y using the camelbak bottle since I already have a decent reusable nalgene, BUT it isn’t big enough. I want this bottle.
I would guess that some people use plastic water bottles almost every day though — maybe 200 or 300 a year!
[...] I completely forgot about my water bottle giveaway last week; I’ll keep it open until midnight tonight! The CamelBak was clutch for our trip [...]
My husband and I go through way too many plastic water bottles right now so this would be a dream come true! I would fill at home and drink all day!
I’d love that bottle! I currently have a water bottle, but it’s on its last leg and I desperately need a new one. Plus a filtered one? Yes, please! I’d fill it up mostly at home, but anywhere I needed to if that situation arose.
