This week’s link love is short and sweet. Happy birthday,Β America!
Food, Recipes, Fitness
- Kath’s Pumpkin and Cinnamon Beanies look ah-mazing! I haven’t baked with beans in a while and it is something I must try again. I made these black bean brownies back in March of 2008.
- Must make Erin’s Almond Flour Zucchini Muffins. (This one you have to use just the whites because you beat them!)
- Mark’s Grok Walk Workout looks awesome. Definitely fits into my current exercise routine.
- Week 5 of Biz’s 101 Days of Summer Challenge is over. Check out the comments on her post to see how we all did.
Salad Girl Updates
- Today… I rewrote this post on Reducing Sugar. It was originally just “10 healthy tips” for cooking and baking, but upon reading it I discovered that I used to demonize butter and fats and think that we should all be eating carby, fat-free diets. So I rewrote it. Do check it out if you get a chance.
- A year ago today… I made homemade ketchup. And I was eating egg whites.
- 2 years ago today… I made healthy fried rice. And then 2 days later I got engaged.
we’re having a bbq tomorrow for the family so i made a dessert! (red, white, and blue of course)
i have tried so hard to eat yolks because i know they’re full of great nutrients but i just hate the way they taste cooked. i remember the tortuous mornings with my mom trying to force me to eat hard boiled eggs.
i do, however, LOVE runny yolks! they’re amazing atop of everything! π
I want to make Erin’s muffins as well. Those looked good. Went through an egg white phase myself. Egg Beaters phase to be exact. Why?
I’ve bookmarked the Grok walk workout too, I love bodyrock but it’s good to change the feel a bit every now and again. Mark Sisson is doing such a fantastic job of showing how easy and fun paleo/primal is.
Although I have only recently embraced the fat, I always ate egg yolks. There’s not really a ‘culture’ of ditching egg whites here in the UK and Ireland. Must check out your homemade ketchup, would be good with veggie scramble!
Thanks for the link love Maggie! π I made my very first strawberry rhubarb pie – I am 43 years old and have never had rhubarb!
Enjoy your day!
Thank you so much for linking me, Maggie! Lots of interesting stuff to check out on here again … π
