In this exposé-ish article, the author reveals that expectations have way more to do with your opinion of a wine than the actual quality of the wine. Antics employed to test unsuspecting consumers and experts include dyeing white wine red and putting expensive stickers on cheap wines.
The True Cost of Healthcare. A site that gives an inside look at what medicines and treatments actually cost, how the costs are hidden (from both doctors and patients), and why people are excluded from healthcare.
The Extraordinary Science of Addictive Junk Food. This is old news by now (from late Feb), but if you haven’t read this NY Times article on how junk food companies actually try to create food that is addicting, I highly recommend it.
Handvo: Indian Savory Snack Cake. My coworker brought this in the other day and it smelled amazing. We spent a few minutes googling for recipes. (Her MIL had made it.) I believe most recipes for this snack cake are gluten free.

Scones are possibly my very favorite food. The one pictured happens to be a kabocha chocolate scone from Souen (for my birthday back in 2010).

Bobby and I have had a crazy past 2 weeks. Between the two of us, we haven’t had a single free night. Tonight, the last of the planned evenings, we are going out to dinner with a friend who just found out the sex of her baby (it’s a girl!!) at Sakagura. And then, finally, we will have no plans at all after work (for a few days at least). I can’t wait to spend some quality time chilling out with hubby and the cats. Who knows, maybe we will even cook in (a rare event as of late). For example, last night we dined at La Maison du Croque Monsieur down on 13th street… Mm mm mm mm mm.
