Goodeats for 9/12/2008

Nice and simple this morning. Bobby did some charity work today so he was up at 7:15 and out by 7:30. I got up an hour or so later and did 20 minutes of cardio yoga (Tom Morley), again.

Breakfast: (all free, from work – I get free breakfast every day. This is why I tend to eat the same thing a lot, and sometimes things that I otherwise wouldn’t eat, like yogurt with aspartame.)
  • 1 huge apple
  • Dannon 0% plus peach flavor
Lunch: (free lunch on Fridays – they ordered out from an awesome Vietnamese place, Hometown Noodle in Redwood City)
  • lots of iceberg, cucumbers, and pickled carrots and radish – topped with fish sauce
  • 3 slices of orange (I might go back and get some more)
  • 2 shrimp
  • lots of tofu/cabbage/peanut salad – I went back for another big plate of this.
  • diet evil pepsi (eek… I had 3 of these yesterday that I “forgot” to mention)
After lunch I went for my hour-long walk and talked to the ‘rents. Mom is getting a Mac! It’s ordered and everything! I am so happy. On a sad note, my ChapStick “Flava-Craze” Blue Crazeberry is almost gone. Actually it’s Bobby’s, but I stole it. I keep it on my keyboard at work and apply every 30 minutes or so.
Snack:
  • another 2 big plates of that cabbage/tofu/peanut salad – so good!
  • about 5 (?) more slices of orange – these were so fresh
  • another diet soda =/
Dinner:
  • Salad from work – another 2 big plates full.
  • more oranges

I know that I didn’t have a lot of variety in my food today, and I’m very sorry to disappoint – but I ate exactly what I wanted and I loved it!

Lunch:

  • 1/2 turkey sandwich on a big slice of WW with onions and mustard
  • lots of veggies (you can’t even see all of them!) – baby carrots, romanesco, green beans, and mushrooms – with hummus. I brought the whole container to work because I never seem to pack enough.
  • 1 large apple

Then I took an hour-long walk and talked to my Momma. She’s having a rough time with work and with her computer, and I’m trying to convince her to buy a Macbook.

Around 5 I had a small “dinner” so that I wouldn’t be full for choir practice at 7:30p. Choir was awesome by the way! It’s a small group that sings early church music – very interesting and fun.
Dinner/Snack:
  • other 1/2 of my turkey sandwich
  • Dannon 0% Plus (blueberry flavor, from work)
  • 2 nectarines
2nd Dinner:

  • salad with a slice of turkey, Newman’s Own lowfat Sesame Ginger dressing
  • mushrooms and green beans (unpictured) with hummus
  • apple with almond butter
  • 2 (ish?) cups of Kamut puffs

Goodeats for 9/11/2008

Woke up this morning and 20 minutes of Cardio Yoga (again).  Let me repeat, Tom Morley is great.  When we go to LA in the spring I’m going to try to get in to one of his classes.

I have another choir that I’m trying out tonight – they sing early music and Gregorian chant.  I’m really excited because I’m a little bit of a nerd like that.  Anyway, I didn’t like how my snacking turned out on Tuesday (I don’t like to eat before I sing), so I’m going to try to have 1/2 a sandwich before and see how hungry I am later.  Or maybe a yogurt.  I haven’t really decided yet.  I brought a whole sandwich and I’m planning on half with lunch and the other half before choir.  The choir is the St Ann Choir over at Stanford if you’re wondering.

Breakfast:
  • apples&cinnamon oats
  • I’m not that hungry this morning… I think dinner last night was too filling.  And then I snacked on baby carrots (which aren’t that filling, but they are voluminous)… So I’m guessing that’s why.  Hm.  It’s only 11 now, and I’m not hungry at all.  I’m sure I’ll get there in an hour though 😉

Goodeats for 9/10/2008

I got up early again this morning to do cardio yoga with Tom Morley (20 minutes). If you have ExerciseTV OnDemand, I highly recommend this video.

After yesterday I’ve decided I’m going to make a concerted effort to eat more during the day. I’m getting enough calories in total, but I’m shoving them all in at night, and it just makes me feel sick and often I’m still full when I wake up! I love waking up hungry for my oats, so I’m really going to try this different routine. I need to eat more during the day, and less at night. Let’s see how it goes…

Breakfast:

  • apples&cinnamon oats
  • 1 apple

I took an hour-long walk after lunch today – I was going to go before, but I was too hungry by the time I wanted to go so I ate first instead.

Lunch:
  • 1/2 turkey, onion, mustard sandwich on big slice of WW
  • peppers, romanesco, mushrooms, baby carrots with hummus (carrots were in a different container)
  • 1 pear
Snack:
  • baby carrots with hummus
  • 1 nectarine
Dinner: (Korean – Roll House on El Camino in Santa Clara)
  • Hwe Dup Bap (raw tuna and raw fish eggs on top of egg, lots of veggies, and rice – I don’t eat the rice) – topped with spicy sauce
  • Side dishes – kimchee, potato waldorf salad, potato things that I didn’t eat, and pickled daikon (takuan). The waldorf salad had a really heavy dressing, but I had a good amount anyway – it’s always too good to pass up.
  • miso soup (and Bobby’s too)

Snacky:

  • baby carrots and hummus (what else?)

I think today was okay, eating-wise – I was at work until 8-something and was so busy that I didn’t have time to snack. I think the only reason that I snack during the day and at night is because I’m bored. Have a good night!
